Sequence + Action + Meaning = Success

May you always remember that obstacles in the path are not obstacles, they ARE the path.  – Jane Explains.

We are always challenged by obstacles in our personal lives and our professional lives, but it is how we choose to respond to them that matters. Susan wrote a short piece in EntrepreneurMomNow.com about her steps to success which she so cleverly named SAM.

S is for Sequence: make sure you are doing things in the most natural order and at the right pace. As Susan said, “Your entire picture may not be clear to you right away but operating methodically in sequence will help you get clear one step at a time.”

A is for Action: remember to keep moving and not to lose momentum. Be sure to set big goals, but also to remember that goals are attained one action and one day at a time. And also be sure not to set unattainable goals. This will only lead to stopping and stalling.

M is for Meaning: to stay on track, remember why you are doing what you are doing! When things are getting difficult or you are feeling bored by the mundane, take the time to revisit the purpose of your actions and stay on course. Sometimes taking the time to write down what is really meaningful to you can help keep you on track. Plus, you always have a reference to keep going back to when you are confronted with obstacles.

Remember, obstacles are not there to stop us, but to challenge us and help us grow. Obstacles help us maintain a state of optimal learning! And when we are confronted with obstacles, remember SAM to help overcome them.
