Making a change is a challenge in itself. We get caught up in the cycle of acting and reacting, but how do we make change in our lives? And how do we take that one step further to create lasting change? The traditional pattern is to act, reflect, and adjust, but to truly make it lasting change, we need to repeat this pattern over and over again, constantly reflecting and adjusting our actions.
Sounds exhausting, doesn’t it? Hard work usually is, but like exercising our bodies, we don’t want to over do it right away. Start off slow, creating attainable goals, and celebrating those successes. Stay in that state of optimal learning and constantly reflect and adjust.
Take a few minutes and write down a few of your goals and what steps you are taking to achieve them. Remember, to make them SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely. Then periodically, check in with them to see if you’re on track. For more guidance on how to get clear and act on that clarity, Susan is facilitating a Clarity Workshop at YYoga in North Vancouver on January 12th, 2014. Contact YYoga to sign up!
