We are a week into the New Year and now that the dust has settled, it is the perfect time to reflect. Just like a business, it is important to take inventory or stock of the year past to see where you are at. It is easy to overlook our successes and especially easy to forget even some of the smaller wins. Take a half hour and work through this short list and remember that each win, no matter the size is valuable.
- Write down one success per month for the past year. What have you done? It’s probably more than you realize.
- Reflect. What were your wins? Is there anything in particular you are especially proud of? Everything counts. Small successes are still successes!
- Stop and celebrate. You have done great things this past year! Don’t let them fall by the wayside. It is easy to look at our shortcomings rather than focus on what we have done well.
Make a list each January and keep them all together. Not only will you be able to see the progress you make each year, you will start realizing your successes as they happen rather than saving them up!
